l2gen maximum number of radiance values reached

by oliviacroningolomb_15 » Wed Apr 20, 2022 3:15 pm America/New_York

I'm trying to process S2A imagery in the l2gen command line. I keep getting the error of "maximum number of radiance values (13) reached" I think it might have to do with the change in naming convention after Dec 6th, 2016, since it is only the 2015 and 2016 files named "S2A_OPER_PRD_MSIL1C_PDMC_..." that aren't being run. Do I need to shorten the filenames to be less than 256 characters, as decribed in the article: https://sentinels.copernicus.eu/web/sentinel/user-guides/sentinel-2-msi/naming-convention ? The error doesn't seem to be thrown due to the file name though seeing as it's talking about radiance values. If anyone has any ideas, that would be very helpful.

Code output:

Loading default parameters for MSIS2A from /Users/emb8xg/Documents/Seadas_8.2/ocssw//share/msi/msl12_defaults.par

Loading default sub-sensor parameters for MSIS2A from /Users/emb8xg/Documents/Seadas_8.2/ocssw//share/msi/s2a/msl12_defaults.par

If you can share the name of your MSI S2A L1 file, we might be able to download the data from copernicus and help you further. The error you got is probably not due to the length of the file name.

Another user got a similar error trying to do l2gen on S2A_MSIL1C_20160401T160029_N0201_R054_T17SQC_20160402T013555 -- viewtopic.php?p=10785&sid=4782c022c65df7293517aa609605fce5#p10785. Please see Don's answer.
