Read AMSR-E data in HDF Format

Hello. I downloaded AMSR-E/Aqua L2B Surface Soil Moisture, Ancillary Parms, & QC EASE-Grids. The files are in HDF-EOS5 file format, and I was wondering what software I could use to read the files? Thanks.

You can use Python, Matlab, IDL, and NCL to read AMSR-E/Aqua L2B Surface Soil Moisture, Ancillary Parms, & QC EASE-Grids (AE_Land) data. You can find example codes from the HDF-EOS Tools and Information Center to access and visualize this AMSR-E dataset at http://hdfeos.org/zoo/index_openNSIDC_Examples.php#MODIS.
