Version 3.33 of the Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AρρEEARS) has been released. This release includes the following:
The availability of new versions for four Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) products from NASA’s National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC):
SMAP L3 Radiometer Global Daily 36 km EASE-Grid Soil Moisture, Version 8 (SPL3SMP)
SMAP Enhanced L3 Radiometer Global and Polar Grid Daily 9 km EASE-Grid Soil Moisture, Version 5 (SPL3SMP_E) — Global layers only
SMAP L4 Global Daily 9 km EASE-Grid Carbon Net Ecosystem Exchange, Version 6 (SPL4CMDL)
SMAP L4 Global 3-hourly 9 km EASE-Grid Surface and Root Zone Soil Moisture Geophysical Data, Version 6 (SPL4SMGP)
The availability of new versions for three Gridded Population of the World (GPW) products from NASA’s Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC):
UN WPP-Adjusted Population Density, Version 4, Revision 11 (CIESIN_SEDAC_GPWv4_APDENS_WPP_2015_R11)
UN WPP-Adjusted Population Count, Version 4, Revision 11 (CIESIN_SEDAC_GPWv4_APCT_WPP_2015_R11)
Data Quality Indicators, Version 4, Revision 11 (CIESIN_SEDAC_GPWv4_DQI_R11)
The new SMAP and GPW data product versions listed above will replace the previous versions available through AρρEEARS.
AρρEEARS offers a simple and efficient way to perform data access and transformation processes by enabling users to download only the data they need. AρρEEARS provides access to a wide range of geospatial data from multiple federal archives, including MODIS onboard the Terra and Aqua satellites, the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission, Daymet gridded weather parameters, ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM) Version 3, and population information from the Gridded Population of the World (GPW) collection.
A complete listing of data products available in AρρEEARS can be found on the Available Products list. Additional resources for using AρρEEARS are available on the LP DAAC E-Learning page.
