Hello,

It's normal now. But there was a period during the weekend, I tried to download files from "direct data access" (https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/directdataaccess/), but got 500 Internal Server Error message like this:

500 Internal Server Error
We're sorry, but something went wrong.
There has been an error processing your request. Please refer to the ID "2ec3505e-2fb3-412b-8483-4f636ffc02f1" when contacting Earthdata Operations.

I tried two different accounts and different IPs, but all the same error, only that ID "2ec3505e-2fb3-412b-8483-4f636ffc02f1" was different each time. Also, the curl command line failed to download files.

Today, file download returned normal. But I just wonder what's responsible for this error, is this error specific to our accounts and IPs? I might have seen another downloading failure very similar to this, overnight during mid last week, I'm worried it's going to happen again.

These failures were caused by a problem with the URS authentication servers run by Earthdata Operations. The errors occurred upstream of our oceandata server and are beyond our control. We encountered similar problems with our own data ingests from external servers.

You can contact them at support@earthdata.nasa.gov and refer to the ID "2ec3505e-2fb3-412b-8483-4f636ffc02f1" if you want further details, but the problem was likely on their side and not related to your account or IPs.

Thanks very much for the explanation! Looking forward to the problem being solved.
But right now, I'm disconnected from the data server via either web directdataaccess or curl command line. Is there a maintenance going on?

Yes there is a firewall upgrade happening now. It started at 8am EDT and is ongoing, so access is interrupted.

I am facing this error while downloading the 30-minute data. Can this be fixed?

There is currently a problem with the web database system that is affecting external access.
Can you be more specific about the dataset you are trying to access?

I want to download "GPM IMERG Final Precipitation L3 Half Hourly 0.1 degree x 0.1 degree V06 (GPM_3IMERGHH)" dataset for the south Asian region.

In that case you want to tag your post with the DAAC you are trying to download from.
I represent the Ocean Color DAAC and we don't archive those data.
