At the moment no new data is coming for SMAP, does anybody know the cause of this and when normal service will be resumed again.

On Monday August 8, 2022 the SMAP observatory entered a safe-mode which is designed to maintain its essential functions but pauses science data acquisition. The Project team is investigating the cause of the anomaly and actively working on resuming operations and continued science data acquisition. The NSIDC DAAC archive will not have science data products during this period. Updates to the situation will be posted on the NSIDC website as they become available: https://nsidc.org/data/user-resources/data-announcements

Hi,
[ RSS SMAP Level 3 Sea Surface Salinity Standard Mapped Image 8-Day Running Mean V4.0 Validated Dataset ]
This dataset is only available until July 7.
Why is data not provided for the period before the safety mode (July 8th to August 7th)?

Is the data still not provided because of the safety mode?

Hello,

I believe the data set you are asking about is distributed by the Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC). They have their own forum where you can post your question. You can visit their forum here:
