modis r2022 par data problem

Hi there,
Just noticed that the 8day, 9km par data has a recurring swath of missing data in the north pacific. Extreme case can be seen in 2003 for the 8day file starting on day 041, which gives the southern most extent of the missing data. It repeats on other years. You can see this if you look at the level-3 browser plots for the 8day, 9km par data for aqua modis. For comparison, the chlor_a data coverage for the same 8day period looks good.
Hope this one's an easy one.
Robert

Robert,
OK, that is definitely a problem - and seems to be related to the sea ice flagging, which is why it only shows up in PAR in the high latitudes (PAR masks on SEAICE at L2 - no other algorithm does so). Now that we know a) there is a problem and b) what the source of said problem is, we should be able to correct it relatively quickly.

Stay tuned...

There is also some weird striping, which may be a different problem? Easily seen flipping through the L3 Browser ...

Sorry to pile on :?

Thanks,
Toby

The striping and the lack of data are the same problem.

The issue with the seaice flagging has been resolved and the PAR product has been reprocessed.
