Definition: The CNR4 net radiometer measures the energy balance between incoming short-wave and long-wave Far Infrared (FIR) radiation versus surface-reflected short-wave and outgoing long-wave radiation. It consists of a pyranometer pair, one facing upward, the other facing downward, and a pyrgeometer pair in a similar configuration. The pyranometer pair measures short-wave radiation and the pyrgeometer pair measures long-wave radiation.

Campbell SR50A Sonic Distance Sensor

Definition: The SR50A Sonic Ranging Sensor measures the distance from the sensor to a target. The most common applications are measuring snow depths and water levels. The sensor is based on a 50 kHz (Ultrasonic) electrostatic transducer. The SR50A determines the distance to a target by sending out ultrasonic pulses and listening for the returning echoes that are reflected from the target. The time from transmissions to return of an echo is the basis for obtaining the distance measurement.

Regarding the Campbell SR50A Sonic Distance Sensor, the GCMD KMS does not support a keyword level below 'Instruments > Earth Remote Sensing Instruments > Active Remote Sensing > Profilers/Sounders > Acoustic Sounders > Echo Sounders'. Are you ok with having the keyword be under Acoustic Sounders?
