l2_flags

I have a question regarding l2_flags in OC data.
I was looking at the image A2022125035500.L2_LAC_OC.nc and I noticed that there are pixels with the SPARE 23 (8388608) flag.
So, I am wondering what this exactly means?

That flag will become "OPSHAL" (optically shallow water). It is not fully validated yet, so it's still "hidden" as SPARE23...apparently not well hidden ;)

Thank you for the clarification.

I was getting confused since the metadata indicates ":SPARE = 0.f ;"
