Sentinel 2B SeaDAS with blank Rrs

Hello again,

I successfully processed Sentinel 2A files (Seadas NIR and MUMM schemes) using the command line. The processing completes for Sentinel 2B files, but does not output any Rrs data.

Is this a common problem or just me?

Are you using V2022.0 of OCSSW? What does your command line look like?

I am now trying to process level1 S2B and 2A from the command line and new Seadas version 8.3.0.
OCSSW is V2022.3, and I have the processor packages.

Inputting the manifest.safe files to the GUI, I am receiving the following error for both sensors:
/Users/Victoria/ocssw/bin/ocssw_runner: line 23: 68277 Segmentation fault: 11 $*
An output file is produced, but is un-openable.

Do I need to alter anything to process them successfully from the GUI? Thank you for any assistance!

You don't need to alter anything if you want to do l2gen on GUI with default values. However, if you want to do l2gen with "Multi-scattering with MUMM correction and MUMM NIR calculation", you need to choose "-10: Multi-scattering with MUMM correction and MUMM NIR calculation" for aer_opt* in the "Processing Options*" GUI.

Can you also share the name of your MSI_S2A(B) file, so we can try to replicate the error?

Sure - thanks! I am processing with default values, and have tried multiple images, all receiving the same error. Here are two of them:

It turns out I am able to do l2gen on the MSI_S2A file you provided and created an L2 file with valid Rrs data

l2gen on S2B_MSIL1C_20220423T135109_N0400_R024_T20HPB_20220423T172721.SAFE went through with no error, but I did get blank Rrs.

l2gen on S2B_MSIL1C_20180314T154009_N0206_R011_T18SVF_20180314T205107.SAFE went through with valid Rrs values.

Hmm, interesting and good to know.
I'll see if I can resolve my error for the MSI_S2A file to process. Thank you for trying these images!

Hi.
I am processing the Sentinel2 data for the year 2022.
While processing, the aerosol correction (atmocor2.c) is not at all executing for the new datasets (2022).
But, 2018 data are processing correctly.
Please provide the solution.

Hi all,
ESA has updated the processing baseline for S2 MSI L1C products (https://sentinels.copernicus.eu/web/sentinel/technical-guides/sentinel-2-msi/processing-baseline) in January 2022. After PB 04.00 (Jan 2022), the dynamic range was shifted by a band-dependent constant, i.e. RADIO_ADD_OFFSET. I wonder if Seadas has considered the offset for data after PB 04.00?
