What is ArcGIS?

ArcGIS is a geographical information system (GIS) software that allows handling and analyzing geographic information by visualizing geographical statistics through layer-building maps like climate data.
The system has the capacity to create geographical information accessible throughout a company, or institution, privately or publicly on the internet. Therefore, the software essentially works as a platform where geographical information can be linked, shared, and analyzed.

NASA's Global Imagery Browse Services (GIBS) visualizations are accessible through standards-compliant web services (See Visualization Services). These services, specifically the OGC Web Map Service (WMS) and Web Map Tile Service (WMTS), allow you to access GIBS visualizations directly within many Geographic Information System (GIS) clients.
