Find swaths in L1/L2 browser

by hanzhi.lin » Fri Oct 28, 2022 5:06 pm America/New_York

My plan is to find all L1A of MODIS Aqua that contain any part of my area of interest, i.e. a L1A could be counted even its one frame is in my area of interest. In L1/L2 browser, I suppose the "select swath containing (at least)... " option could help me accomplish this goal.

However, I'm not sure its left option of "radius (km) about...", because even without selecting, the default value is 72.

Thus I was wondering, will the radius number conflict with or impact the result of selecting swaths that cover any part of my area of interest?

Cheers and wish you a wonderful weekend.

The current L1/2 browser uses a quadsphere grid with a resolution of 72km, thus the minimum radius. Your search results will not be negatively impacted, although there is a slight possibility that some scenes close to your region of interest but not covering it would be retrieved....but only a very slight possibility.
