MCD43 BRDF_Albedo_LandWaterType on 30 ArcSec grid

Dear Team,

I am using the MCD43 v061 daily albedo dataset products on a global 30 ArcSec grid. I need the BRDF_Albedo_LandWaterType parameter to isolate the ocean/shallow water points. Unfortunately, I could not find this parameter projected on the desired grid. It is available for 500 sin grid granules in the MCD43A2 v061 quality assessment dataset:
https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/products/mcd43a2v061/

But it's not available for the 30 ArcSec quality products MCD43D31 (https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/products/mcd43d31v061). I would greatly appreciate any help with getting this parameter.

Hi

It has been too long and we don’t exactly remember why we didn’t attempt to include a dynamic 30arc second land/water mask in the MCD43D (and VNP43D) CMG products – (other than attempting to save archive space, which was more of an issue a decade ago), but we have some vague idea that we thought there would be some standard GMC land/water masks that would exist and it was better for users to use those for consistency across land products. For what is available now the following may fit the bill https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/archive/LandSeaMask_DEM/6/. It is not 30 ArcSec but it is what most usefor consistencey

Thanks,
Brett

Dear Brett,

Thanks a lot for your answer. Actually, I can see the 30 ArcSec files provided at the end of the directory. The grid is the one that I need, so the problem is completely solved.
