I have read the documentation on l2gen but practically putting the sentinel-3 data I can't get there if anyone can help me.

I understand that you are trying to do l2gen for sentinel 3 data. If you haven't read it, this page should be helpful to you: https://seadas.gsfc.nasa.gov/help-8.3.0/processors/ProcessL2gen.html
There is also a video with an example of using l2gen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw3hg2w3xNg). There are more on SeaDAS website (https://seadas.gsfc.nasa.gov/).
If these do not help, please provide more information (e.g. your input file, error messages, etc.) so that our experts can provide more precise answer.

Please make sure you have olcis3a and/or olcis3b installed.
Also choose xfdumanifest.xml (with absolute path) as ifile on l2gen GUI
