GES DISC New Keyword Requests
GES DISC New Keyword Requests
Good afternoon -
GES DISC would like to request new keywords to support new air quality community products.
New science keywords:
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AIR QUALITY > PM2.5
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AEROSOLS > PARTICULATE MATTER > PM2.5
EARTH SCIENCE > HUMAN DIMENSIONS > PUBLIC HEALTH > ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FACTORS > PM2.5
New model keyword for the HAQAST project:
HAQES > Hazardous Air Quality Ensemble System

Re: GES DISC New Keyword Requests
Here is the description from the PI about HAQES. They are working on a web page.
The Hazardous Air Quality Ensemble System (HAQES) is a real-time ensemble forecast of hazardous air quality events, such as wildfires, dust storms, and Volcanic eruptions. Both regional and global models from multiple agencies are used to create the ensemble, including the Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Navy Aerosol Analysis and Prediction System (NAAPS) from Naval Research Laboratory, the Global Ensemble Forecast System Aerosols (GEFS), High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (NOAA-EPA) Atmosphere-Chemistry Coupler-Community Multiscale Air Quality model (NACC-CMAQ) from NOAA. The HAQES provides the forecast of surface PM2.5 (PM25_TOT), PM2.5 organic carbon (PM25_OC), and PM2.5 black carbon (PM25_BC) every 3 hours. The prototypes of HAQES products were developed by the George Mason University Air Quality Laboratory as part of the NASA Health Air Quality Applied Science Team (HAQAST).

Re: GES DISC New Keyword Requests
@cloeser would it be OK if I expanded PM2.5 to make it easier to read in the search facets?
New science keywords:
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AIR QUALITY > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 2.5)
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AEROSOLS > PARTICULATE MATTER > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 2.5)
EARTH SCIENCE > HUMAN DIMENSIONS > PUBLIC HEALTH > ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FACTORS > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 2.5)

Re: GES DISC New Keyword Requests
Good point about PM1.0 and PM10. I think they may be added in the similar way. May be it is a good idea to add them all :EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AIR QUALITY > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 2.5)
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AEROSOLS > PARTICULATE MATTER > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 2.5)
EARTH SCIENCE > HUMAN DIMENSIONS > PUBLIC HEALTH > ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FACTORS > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 2.5)EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AIR QUALITY > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 1.0)
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AEROSOLS > PARTICULATE MATTER > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 1.0)
EARTH SCIENCE > HUMAN DIMENSIONS > PUBLIC HEALTH > ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FACTORS > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 1.0)EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AIR QUALITY > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 10)
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AEROSOLS > PARTICULATE MATTER > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 10)
EARTH SCIENCE > HUMAN DIMENSIONS > PUBLIC HEALTH > ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FACTORS > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 10)
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AEROSOLS > PARTICULATE MATTER > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 2.5)
EARTH SCIENCE > HUMAN DIMENSIONS > PUBLIC HEALTH > ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FACTORS > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 2.5)EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AIR QUALITY > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 1.0)
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AEROSOLS > PARTICULATE MATTER > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 1.0)
EARTH SCIENCE > HUMAN DIMENSIONS > PUBLIC HEALTH > ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FACTORS > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 1.0)EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AIR QUALITY > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 10)
EARTH SCIENCE > ATMOSPHERE > AEROSOLS > PARTICULATE MATTER > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 10)
EARTH SCIENCE > HUMAN DIMENSIONS > PUBLIC HEALTH > ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FACTORS > PARTICULATE MATTER (PM 10)
