Download of CALIPSO Level 3(Version 3)

I want to compare CALIPSO Level 3,V3 and V4 (Tropospheric_APro_)data products in certain areas, but I can't find a download link for V3 right now. Could you please provide a download link for V3?

Between V3 and V4 CALIPSO changed the name of this product; for version 3 they called it CAL_LID_L3_APro, but for version 4 they called it CAL_LID_L3_Tropospheric_APro. This was done because between V3 to V4 they also created a L3 Stratospheric product. The version 4 products are demonstrably better, chiefly tied to the improvements made to the underlying Lidar Level 2 they used as input.

The CALIPSO products available from the ASDC are listed on the CALIPSO Data Product Inventory page. Links to these products are available from the ASDC Direct Data Download (DDD) application, with additional data access options available from the ASDC CALIPSO Data and Information page. Please let us know if these are the products you are seeking.

Thank you very much for your response. I would like to download the data from CAL_LID_L3_APro version 3 to compare with version 4, but the links provided above can only download version 4, and cannot obtain version 3

Absolutely. Once new products are released and the older versions are removed from visibility, it is at the discretion of the data provider to authorize access. Review the Legacy products page and determine which CAL_LID_L3_APro* (V3-00/V3-01) products and temporal periods are needed.

Please provide your name, affiliation, specific product/temporal listing, and justification to the ASDC User Services team at support-asdc@earthdata.nasa.gov, which will be submitted to the data provider. A CALISPO representative will follow up.
