The far side of the Moon, known to the public as "The Dark Side of the Moon," is the lunar hemisphere that always faces away from Earth. "The Dark Side of the Moon" is not dark for NASA's Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) instrument aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) spacecraft.

Just a small clarification: the “Dark Side of the Moon” isn’t actually dark—it’s just the side that always faces away from Earth. DSCOVR’s EPIC camera can see it just fine in sunlight, so you can check out images anytime. Super cool to actually see that side from space!
