Solar radiation and rate limit

by faboli » Mon May 22, 2023 9:52 am America/New_York

Good morning,
I want to ask two questions.
The first one is if there is a way to download real time or predictive solar radiation data in a certain location through an API.
Until now I'm using the temporal hourly API of NASA POWER, but it provides me only old data.
The second question is if there is a rate limit for the requests to the NASA POWER APIs.

Hi Faboli,

I answered this question in your other post, but I'll repeat. The Subject Matter Expert from the NASA POWER Team responded and said there is no set rate limit. However, the NASA POWER Team monitors the usage and will limit usage to support equitable access.

I did a quick search on Google and found a few websites where a user can download real time or predictive solar radiation data in a certain location through an API. The websites indicate you have to pay for the data, unless you're a student or researcher.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
