Relationship between various temporal PIC products

by glastirmep » Wed Jun 07, 2023 9:54 am America/New_York

Hello,

I downloaded daily PIC data for two areas south of Chile and south of New Zealand respectively and I noticed that the daily grids had a lot of 'gaps'. To get more data I downloaded 8-daily and monthly PIC data for the same areas. Whereas the 8-daily grids had also low coverage of the locations of interest, the monthly grids were mostly complete. Could someone clarify for me whether the 8-daily and monthly PIC grids are derived from the daily grids (by averaging daily values?) or each period is derived separately following different processing workflows?

Thank you in advance.
