Processing Landsat 8 images with L2gen

MTL.txt file not accepted
I'm using a Landsat 8 file with L2gen in SeaDAS 8.1.0, and I can't select my MTL.txt file as the ifile. It gives me a warning saying
"# # WARNING!!! file /Users/user/Desktop/LC080110312023052302T1-SC20230605154210/LC08_L2SP_011031_20230523_20230602_02_T1_MTL.txt is not a valid input mission: Mission=null"

It doesn't seem to me like the filepath has any spaces in it -- what else might be causing the problem?

You seem to be attempting to process a L2 file. This will not work, as l2gen expects a L1 file as input.

My lab is having an issue with using the new collection 2 data -- we're trying to look at historical data using collection 1 level 2, but can't access the data set names on earth explorer any more. Is there any way we can still request the collection 1 level 2 data?
We're having issues with exporting the collection 2 level 1 and level 2 data that are on earth explorer now, and can't request many of the attributes (many of the Landsat 2 level products on ESPA).

l2gen takes an L1 file as input -- LC08_L1TP_011031_20230523_20230602_02_T1/LC08_L1TP_011031_20230523_20230602_02_T1_MTL.txt

SeaDAS can display LC08_L2SP_011031_20230523_20230602_02_T1 and the L2 file created by l2gen.
