IMERG early and late v7?
Hi,
I'm trying to update IMERG in Earth Engine from v06 to v07, but I'm confused about the new nomenclature.
According to https://gpm.nasa.gov/data/directory, IMERG Early and Late have been updated to V06D, and IMERG Final Run is undergoing retrospective processing and is being updated to V07.
I see the V07 final dataset at https://cmr.earthdata.nasa.gov/search/concepts/C2723754864-GES_DISC.html.
But should Early and Late data V06D replace the V06 assets we already have in Earth Engine? Or should we start a new V06D collection?

Re: IMERG early and late v7?
Hello,
Version 06D is NOT a new collection.
It has been explained at https://gpm.nasa.gov/data/directory:
As of July 7, 2023, GPM Level 2 and 3 products and filenames have been updated to V07B. IMERG Early and Late have been updated to V06D.
The version numbering for IMERG is explained in the IMERG technical documentation available on the dataset landing page, or,
https://docserver.gesdisc.eosdis.nasa.gov/public/project/GPM/IMERG_doc.06.pdf
Regarding “IMERG early and late V7”,
Current timeline suggests that V07 IMERG in NRT (early and late
products) will start in the late October 2023/early November 2023
timeframe. So, while the final IMERG is currently being reprocessed in
V07, it will be a while until the NRT IMERG also uses the new algorithms.
Hope these help.

Re: IMERG early and late v7?
Correction to my last reply. The switch to 06D is July 1 for IMERG Late, and July 2 for Early. Not July 7.
Thanks
Thanks
