I am conducting a study of aerosols optical properties based on the WRFChem simulation. One of the tasks related to this study is the comparison of the simulated aerosol extinction profiles with that of the CALIPSO data. The problem is that how can I interpolate the CALIPSO optical wavelengths (532 nm) to the corresponding simulated data (e.g. 550 nm).

Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Please note: The specific angstrom exponent noted below is looking at high altitudes, so this term may differ for the region that you are looking at.

CALIPSO extinction and optical depths at 532 nm can be converted to 550 nm by using an appropriate Angstrom exponent into the equation:

Where Eλ2 = 550 nm extinction, Eλ1 = 532 nm extinction, λ2 = 550 nm and λ1 = 532 nm and is the Angstrom exponent.

For stratospheric altitudes in the post-Pinatubo period (after 1997), the Angstrom exponent can be approximated as -1.6 , see Jager and Deshler, 2002, GRL, doi: 10.1029/2002GL015609,2002.
