For direct access --https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/directdataaccess/Level-2/Aqua-MODIS

You can download the L2 files, open the files in SeaDAS, open the masks, and click on CLDICE

Or you can open any band, open the Mask Manager, and choose CLDICE, and pick a color other than white, see the screenshot from my last post

For the 2nd link, choose the date(s) and region, click "Find Swath", and you will come to a page like this --

You can then download the L2 files and use SeaDAS to see the CLDICE mask or masked band image

Bing,

I did as you said in the last message, both strategies. I was able to download the files, but in none of them I can get the masks open - that option does not appear. Please see my attached image. Am I downloading the right file?

Thanks and abraços,

I noticed that you are still using SeaDAS 7.5.3. Maybe you could try 8.4.1, which has almost all the features of 7.5.3, plus a lot more?

Bing,

Yes, I am having trouble installing the latest SeaDAS in MacOS Monterey... will that prevent me from working with the cloud data?

Thanks and abraços,

Tell us what error message you got trying to install SeaDAS 8.4.1, hopefully we can help you install SeaDAS and visualize the MODIS AQUA data

Bing, thanks so much. I am away on a field trip, but should come back in a couple of days and I'll send it to you.

Abraços
