The LP DAAC's Inventory Web Service will be decommissioned on December 15, 2023. Users are encouraged to transition to NASA’s Earthdata Search or NASA's Common Metadata Repository (CMR) API as viable replacement for data search needs. Earthdata Search is a online platform that allows users to search, discover, and download NASA Earthdata data assets. NASA's CMR API is a web services that provides programmatic access the extensive metadata associated with NASA's Earth science data, and serves as a valuable tool of metadata retrieval, data discovery, and data access. These alternatives provide enhanced search and discovery capabilities relative to the Inventory Web Service.
