I like to download some data from Merra2, i found a script from github to download data(https://github.com/emilylaiken/merradownload) also found Giovanni.
Which is better Giovanni or the script, what is the difference between the two.

The script you shared is to subset the variable T2M from the MERRA-2 hourly collection M2I1NXASM at a few sites over selected years with a Python code. Unfortunately, this hourly collection has not been added to Giovanni yet. Thus, if you want to download the same variable, your better choice is to use that script, which actually works to download all MERRA-2 collections (this one and others).
Giovanni can subset, visualize, and download MERRA-2 data with limited collections and variables, especially for hourly collections.
