VNP14A1 V002 release?

by bfpowell » Thu Jan 11, 2024 4:46 pm America/New_York

I know that VNP14A1 V002 is in the works, but I was wondering if there was an estimated timeline for release to users?

Hello,

This page provides access via the EarthData portal only - is there FTP access? We harvest data via FTP for the version 1 product here: https://e4ftl01.cr.usgs.gov/VIIRS/

Hello,
Yes, the VNP14A1 V002 has been released. Unlike V001 it is not available in the Data Pool, but rather it is in the cloud. It can be searched for and ordered through the Earthdata Search Tool: https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search/granules?p=C2545314541-LPCLOUD&pg[0][v]=f&pg[0][gsk]=-start_date&q=vnp14a1&tl=1705493785.82!3!!
Please bear in mind that the V002 legacy processing is not quite complete yet. So there are some V002 data gaps.
Thanks,
Brett

Is this the only way the V02 data will be available moving forward? Or is there a plan to eventually add it to the Data Pool? We automate our harvest so we're looking for ways to access the data without manually searching for it.
