Discontinuation of Aura OMI as an Ancillary Ozone Input for ASTER Products

by LP DAAC - jwilson » Fri Jan 19, 2024 9:22 am America/New_York

The Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) aboard NASA’s Aura satellite has been discontinued as of October 6, 2023. Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) on-demand higher level product orders for ASTER acquisitions after October 06, 2023, will fall back to climatology ozone inputs. Aura OMI ozone inputs will continue to be available for on-demand product orders for ASTER scenes within the acquisition range: December 2, 2004 – October 6, 2023. The following list of ASTER V003 products are impacted:

ASTER L2 Surface Emissivity (AST_05)
ASTER L2 Surface Reflectance VNIR and SWIR (AST_07)
ASTER L2 Surface Reflectance SWIR Crosstalk-Corrected (AST_07XT)
ASTER L2 Surface Kinetic Temperature (AST_08)
ASTER L2 Surface Radiance VNIR and SWIR (AST_09)
ASTER L2 Surface Radiance SWIR Crosstalk-Corrected (AST_09XT)
ASTER L2 Surface Radiance TIR (AST_09T)
