Landsat C2L2 surface temperature

Hello,
before Landsat C2L2 data was made available, I used to process Band 10 to get Land surface temperature.

Now with C2L2 data, ST is directly provided. However, I couldn't find whether it was the nightime of the daytime images that have been used to calculate the LST. As I want to detect temperature anomalies, I guessed nighttime was better, but I may be wrong. Papers showed that nightime maybe better (https://www.mdpi.com/2072-4292/12/17/2776).

Hello @arabaute Here is what I heard back from the team:
Nighttime imagery is actually better for detecting temperature differences in most cases, but those images are rarely processed to the Level-2 products. They are missing the visual information from the OLI sensor, so typically we cannot confirm the locations of ground control points.

You can still use band 10 and information from the metadata files to produce a pseudo LST product but it will not have the accuracy of our Level-2 images because we include auxiliary data in the calculations used to create those products.

While I'm here, I may as well ask about another thing that is not clear to me about Level-2 images. Among all the corrections applied, is there a topographic correction to account for slope orientation and magnitude during acquisition?
