Forward processing of Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Version 1 (Collection 1) land data products from the NASA/NOAA Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) will be discontinued on June 30, 2024. Users are encouraged to transition to VIIRS Version 2 which includes data products from both the Suomi NPP satellite and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-20 (NOAA-20) satellite. The VIIRS Earth Science Data Records for Version 2 will include additional data products to provide continuity with MODIS land science products. The complete list of VIIRS Version 2 datasets are listed in the VIIRS Products Table.
Suomi NPP VIIRS Version 1 data products will remain available for distribution as additional Version 2 data products are released.
