Gravimetry and Milligal Dataset

by invizabel » Thu Jun 13, 2024 8:59 pm America/New_York

What data set contains the measurements of milligals in the earth science gravity datasets? I'm interested in a data set that contain gravimety and milligals of the earth. It must be from at least 2020 to present. I was reading a post from NASA about the earths Gravity anomalies that is currently archived. The measurements they used are -50 to 50 milligals.

One can calculate gravity anomalies from the Level-2 GRACE-FO data, which go back past 2020. There are several data sets for you to choose from, which can be found here https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/GRACE-FO?sections=data (focus on the Level 2 data sets). There are many different ways / conventions on how to calculate the gravity anomalies from these files, not sure what you are after in particular. You could potentially use this GFZ website to do the calculation: https://icgem.gfz-potsdam.de/calcgrid.
