I am trying to access fresh data from VIIRS S-NPP SP dataset (url similar to https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/api/area/csv/<mapkey>/VIIRS_SNPP_SP/world/10/2024-02-29).
However, according to https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/api/data_availability/html/<mapkey>/VIIRS_SNPP_SP, this data is only available from 2012-01-20 till 2022-08-31. This looks right because when I try to access this data for more recent dates I get an error ("Error in processing: No data.").

Question: is this a known outage? Is it expected to be resolved?

Today (06/20/2024), we updated the dataset for VIIRS SNPP SP and it is available from 2012-01 through 2024-01 as Collection 2. Note the change of collection version from 1 to 2 for SNPP SP data.

Standard Processing (SP) datasets are and will be behind at least 3 months or more. If you are interested in more recent dates than available from SP, we recommend using NRT data which is continuously updated.

The 'data_availability' API is applicable for determining when SP dataset ends.
