Previous version OCO-2 has XCO2 variable, which has GeoTraj type. It end in April 2024
I tried to visualize OCO-2/3 for 2024. Temporal Coverage: 2024-04-01 to 2024-09-24. It is HDF file. I tried Panoply, but could not use it.
How may visualize in HDF file?

Hello, I will also have our OCO data experts examine your question, but from the name of the file, which begins "oco2_ephem", I believe this is an Ephemerides (navigation) file and not a data file. Can you confirm the archive and location that you downloaded this file from?
For our archive, the link below returns OCO-2 data product links. You are likely seeking the "OCO-2 Level 2 geolocated XCO2 retrievals results". In our archive, both the Version 11.1 and Version 11.2 are available. There is a gap between the end of the Version 11.1 data collection and the start of the Version 11.2 data collection; the gap period is 2024-04-01 to 2024-06-06. I will ask our data experts regarding the cause of this gap and if it will be filled by retrospective data processing.

Yes, there is gap between April and June in 2024. But one data is available from 2024 April.

What product are you trying to plot? Do you want to plot average map for April 1 through September 24?

I am trying to plot carbon dioxide (XCO2 data). As l see there are update version https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/datasets/OCO2_L2_Lite_FP_11.2r/summary?keywords=OCO (OCO2_L2_Lite_FP 11.2r), which it has XCO2 data. it available till 2024-09-02. I have not problem with this data.
There are data which everyday update, but it has HDF5. Is there a way to plot this data?

Hi, thank you for your question. Yes, the Lite products are in NetCDF4 format and the Standard product is an HDF5 file. To easily visualize in Panoply, you can access the data via OPeNDAP (my example link: https://oco2.gesdisc.eosdis.nasa.gov/opendap/OCO2_L2_Standard.11.2r/2024/092/oco2_L2StdGL_51854a_240401_B11205r_240608010512.h5.html) which has the option to download the file as a NetCDF4. You can then visualize the file in Panoply from the file in your Downloads folder. Please see my attachment.

I download data as NC4, then load in Panoply. Which column should I select to visualize?

Under RetrievalResults, select RetrievalResults_xco2. However, if you have issues plotting it in Panoply, you may want to write a code to plot it accounting for quality flags, uncertainty, etc. Is there a reason you are looking at the L2 Standard rather than the L2 Lite files?

I tried your way, but RetrievalResults_xco2 data is 1D line. I need to visualise data on geometric coordinates.
I use this data, but it is available till 2024-09-02. You may view in the first image.
There are some data that is updated every day, but it is not like OCO-2 Level 2 bias-corrected XCO2.
It does not matter if the data is L2 Standard or L2 Lite files. Which data should I use, which update every day?

Ah I understand now, sorry for my confusion. The L2 Standard does indeed have recent file updates but does not have GeoTraj variables on Panoply. Thus, you have to write a program to plot the data. The GES DISC has several How-To's for plotting data, for example, in Python: https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/information/howto?keywords=plot%20python&page=1
I've gone ahead and written a quick Python script to plot an L2 Standard file for 10/16/2024 based on one of our How-To's. You can take it from here and, for example, write a loop to plot several days or the whole month of October so far, etc.
