Factor that averages BSA and WSA for real radiation conditions

Dear all,

Exactly I am interested in the calculation of the blue-sky albedo from the WSA (all diffuse radiation) and BSA (all direct radiation), and what I am looking for is the factor that allows me to average both values for real radiation conditions. I use the equation (WSA*kt+(1-kt)*BSA) to obtain the real albedo through the values provided in AppEEARS (Albedo_WSA_shortwave and Albedo_WSA_Shortwave, MCD43A3-061 product).

The main question is how to obtain this kt value, that allow to calculate the real albedo considering the WSA and BSA albedo.

Would you recommend me a way to calculate it with the data you have? Even if it is through the combination of several factors.

Just noting we are following up with this user via email but from the PI we heard back "We use the aerosol optical depth either from particular sites (provided by field networks) or by using the MODIS aerosol product."
