Hello

We at the Danish Meterological Instititute have for years been downloading Viirs sensor data from the ftp link below:

ftp://podaac-ftp.jpl.nasa.gov/allData/ghrsst/data/GDS2/L2P/VIIRS_NPP/NAVO/v2/


But now the download fails. Have ftp downloads been phased out?

I have been working here for just a few months so I dont know any of the history.

Thank you in advance for your help sorting this out.

PO.DAAC phased out FTP downloads, so FTP is not available anymore. Please create an Earthdata login if you do not already have one (https://urs.earthdata.nasa.gov) and use it to download via

Earthdata Search: https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search/granules?p=C1996881636-POCLOUD
PO.DAAC Data Subscriber and Downloader: https://github.com/podaac/data-subscriber

The Earthdata Search dataset page is reachable from the data access tab of the dataset landing page: https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/dataset/VIIRS_NPP-NAVO-L2P-v3.0

The problem is as suspected ftp site closing. Thank you for confirming that. :)

I will look into the options you mention.
