PACE version 3 reprocessing

by OB.DAAC - SeanBailey » Wed Feb 05, 2025 6:51 am America/New_York

The PACE OCI V3 reprocessing is now underway, and OCI V2 processing has been halted. The OCI V3 Level-1B products from 1 January 2025 forward are now available from OB.DAAC and EarthDataCloud, and OCI V3 Level-2 and Level-3 science data products will soon follow. All currently available PACE OCI data back to 5 March 2024 will be reprocessed to V3 and distributed in the coming days. Release notes describing the changes from V2 to V3 are now available at https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/reprocessing/V3.0/pace/.

The existing timeseries of OCI V2 science data products will continue to be available from EarthDataCloud for some time to come, but it will not be extended beyond 4 February 2025.

Once the initial V3 reprocessing is complete, we anticipate initiating the production and distribution of a number of new products, including OCI and SPEXone Level-2 and Level-3 aerosol products and OCI phytoplankton community composition products. It is also expected that HARP2 V3 Level-1B & Level-1C calibration and software updates will soon be finalized, with reprocessing of those products and initiation of Level-2 and Level-3 HARP2 aerosol and cloud products to follow.

Note that SPEXone V3 Level-1B & Level-1C products are already being distributed. There will be a minor update to the SPEXone Level-1C products.
