ECOSTRESS Version 1 Forward Processing Ended on January 6, 2025

by LP DAAC - jwilson » Fri Feb 07, 2025 11:59 am America/New_York

ECOSTRESS Level 1 and 2 forward processing of Version 1 has ended as of January 6, 2025. Version 1 collections will be decommissioned at the end of May 2025. It is strongly encouraged that users transition to ECOSTRESS Version 2. The complete list of ECOSTRESS Version 2 datasets is listed in the ECOSTRESS Products Table.

Attached to the International Space Station (ISS), ECOSTRESS measures the Earth's surface temperature to better understand plant water usage. More information on ECOSTRESS can be found on the ECOSTRESS website.

ECOSTRESS Version 2 improvements and additions include:

ECO_L1B_RAD radiance calibration has been applied to correct the ~1K cold bias.
Increased geolocation accuracy (ECO_L1B_GEO).
The ECO_L2_CLOUD algorithm has been revamped to have a more rigorous single-channel Bayesian cloud threshold with a look-up-table (LUT).
5-band acquisitions over the orbital day/night periods.
Gridded and Tiled granules are available for select products.
Data are available for download through NASA’s Earthdata Search.
