Hi everyone,
I’m currently researching Antarctic sea ice and trying to find datasets that include multi-year ice concentration or sea ice age specifically for Antarctic. I know these metrics are widely available for the Arctic (like NSIDC’s Arctic Sea Ice Age), but I’m struggling to find similar resources for Antarctica.
Could anyone share suggestions on:
Existing datasets: Are there Antarctic-specific products tracking multi-year ice or ice age?
Alternative approaches: If direct data isn’t available, what indirect methods might help infer multi-year ice distribution?
Any pointers to datasets, tools, or relevant papers would be super helpful! Thanks in advance!

Hello @sueyi While these data do not have specific information on sea ice, you might be interested in the Antarctic Single Frame Records aerial data archived by the USGS EROS. More information on these data can be found here: https://www.usgs.gov/centers/eros/science/usgs-eros-archive-aerial-photography-antarctic-single-frame-records It is a collection of aerial photographs over the Antarctic that is available for downloading as medium or high resolution digital images
(1946 - 2000).
