Hello. I´m trying to use the next layers in QGIS 3.40 on Windows: https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/mapserver/wms-info/
When I load the connection to https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/mapserver/wms/fires/ there is no problem getting transparent imagery, but if I use "time_since_detection_4", there is a gray layer in the background.

Is there a way to use the time_since_detection layer, avoiding the gray background?

Hi,

I am a developer on the FIRMS team. I wanted to provide you with a temporary solution as the reason for the gray cannot be solved yet.

The temporary solution is to change the transparency of the layer (start with reducing it from 100%) and go from there. To make a WMS layer transparent in QGIS, you need to adjust the opacity or transparency settings within the layer properties. Layer properties can be accessed by right clicking on the specific layer and properties will appear. Navigate to the "Transparency" tab and adjust the "Global Opacity" slider or use custom transparency options for specific colors or no-data values.

Let me know if you have issues or anything. You can also get in contact with us through the feedback module on the FIRMS site.
