ORNL DAAC Request for New GCMD Project: SCOAPE-II

Hi,
The ORNL DAAC needs a new GCMD project vocabulary entry, here are the details:
Type: Project
Short name: SCOAPE-II
Long name: Satellite Coastal and Oceanic Atmospheric Pollution Experiment II
Description: Satellite Coastal and Oceanic Atmospheric Pollution Experiment II (SCOAPE‑II) was a 2024 NASA field campaign in the Gulf of America designed to assess nitrogen dioxide and methane emissions from offshore oil and natural gas operations and to validate satellite measurements, especially from TEMPO. SCOAPE-II is a follow-on to the previous SCOAPE-I campaign of May 2019. SCOAPE‑II was led by NASA’s Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics and Langley Research organizations in partnership with the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), with contributions from several NASA centers (Goddard, Langley, JPL, Johnson) and university collaborators. SCOAPE‑II collected high‑frequency in‑situ measurements of ozone, NO2 and related trace gases, aerosols, and meteorology at the surface and through the column, plus ozonesonde profiles between roughly the surface and the upper troposphere during its campaign period in June 2024. It used a B‑200 King Air for remote sensing with the AVIRIS‑3 (Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer‑3) imaging spectrometer to map methane and CO2 plumes; separate flights in October 2024 used the Geostationary Costal and Air Pollution Event (GEO‑CAPE) Airborne Simulator (GCAS) instrument provided column NO2 measurements for satellite validation.
