Landsat index from 1984 to 2026 : Monthly/Quaterly (median) mode delivery ?

by image95 » Fri Jan 16, 2026 10:43 am America/New_York

Dear all,

I'm taking the liberty to post a message and ask some questions please.
The Landsat collection does indeed seem to be of interest for my use case.
For a small area in France I would like to get from 1984 to the present those following index :

- NDMI
- NDWI
- NDVI (or other relevant vegetation index?)
- If possible Land Surface thermal index
- If possible : the water in wetlands index (WIW) :
https://custom-scripts.sentinel-hub.com/custom-scripts/sentinel-2/wiw_s2_script/

i am ok to take into consideration landsat 5 from 1984 to 2013 if needed
Ok for landsat 7 but probably form to 1999 to 2003 May 31 ( afai 2023 May 31 because there was some problems with this sensor from this date. Il would like to skip some bands problems noticed with landsat 7).
And also landsat 8 and landsat 9 if needed from 2013.

However, given the long time period, I would like to get data in monthly or even quarterly/seasonal mode (for example: NDMI index for January/February/March 1985, the same for 1986 up to 2025/2026).
In other words, a kind of composite data that aggregates. Ideally, I would like the central value for the aggregation to be the median. But if that's not possible, the mean/average could be fine.
Given that this would be a multi-sensor optical approach (Landsat 5, Lansat 7/8/9), are there any points to be aware of?
Since this would be an optical approach and not radar, I imagine the main constraint will be cloud cover handling, especially in winter. For certain seasons/months of certain years, there might not be any valid pixels. I accept this limit/constraint. But i would like if its possible to have somes informations on the number of valid pixel occurrences for each monthly/quarterly aggregation?

Regarding the filter index cloud cover, I would like not to limit myself to the cloud cover percentage of the image but to check/evaluate at the AOI level which pixels are actually usable or not.
An image could have 75% of Cloudy/shadowy, but miraculously usable and valid for my small area.

That concludes my request description.
=> According to you, Can your services might handle this type of request/ delivery customized mode over my little AOI? If yes, do you know turnaround/delivery times?
Or is it something I need to do on my end? With a kind of tool/service ? I understand that the depth/temporal scope is important, but my study area is small.

In advance, thanks so much for your, as usual, still valuable reply and guidance.
