Difference in number of granules between VNP46A3 V1 and V2

Hello,

I just noticed based on https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/catalog/laads-vnp46a3-2 and https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/catalog/laads-vnp46a3-1 that VNP46A3 v1 has 64880 available granules and VNP46A3 v2 1333, can someone explains me please what is the cause of that difference ?
