Worldview Imagery and ArcGIS Image Services for TEMPO Standard V04 and Near Real-Time V02 Data Now Available; TEMPO V04
Posted: Tue Feb 24, 2026 10:47 am America/New_York
1. TEMPO Standard (STD) Version 04 (V04) and Near Real-Time (NRT) Version 02 Level 2 and Level 3 science variables are now available as browse imagery via NASA’s Worldview.
This release includes imagery from the newly released Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) V04 data for all science variables currently available in Worldview, imagery from the new TEMPO Ozone Profile data, as well as imagery from the TEMPO NRT data.
The best available imagery for each science variable is shown at any given time. For example, the Nitrogen Dioxide NRT image for a particular timestamp will be displayed until the image from the standard version Nitrogen Dioxide data arrive for that timestamp; at that time, the NRT image will be replaced by the standard data image. A badge next to the layer name in the legend shows the data version being displayed. For more information about viewing TEMPO data in Worldview, please see this Earthdata Forum post.
The imagery layers included in this release are:
Level 2
Level 3

2. TEMPO V02 Level 3 Nitrogen Dioxide and Formaldehyde NRT data are now available as ArcGIS image services via the NASA Earthdata GIS portal and Esri’s Living Atlas of the World.
The TEMPO NRT products are useful for applications with low-latency requirements. The NRT processing optimizes radiance calibration, image navigation and registration, and cloud and trace gas retrievals for rapid processing, while ensuring that product quality is sufficient for most NRT applications. Data are updated hourly with any new scans received during a rolling two-day period.
The services included in this release are:
Earthdata GIS
- ArcGIS Image Service: TEMPO Level 3 Nitrogen Dioxide Near Real-Time, Version 02
- ArcGIS Image Service: TEMPO Level 3 Formaldehyde Near Real-Time, Version 02
Living Atlas of the World
- ArcGIS Image Service: TEMPO Level 3 Nitrogen Dioxide Near Real-Time, Version 02
- ArcGIS Image Service: TEMPO Level 3 Formaldehyde Near Real-Time, Version 02
3. Backprocessing of TEMPO V03 Data into V04 Data
The previous TEMPO data version (V03) was released publicly on May 24, 2024, and cover the time period from August 2, 2023 to September 16, 2025. The team is reprocessing all observations since the beginning of the mission with V04 algorithms, with V04 products becoming publicly available through Earthdata Search as they are reprocessed. The data are being reprocessed nonchronologically based on operational priorities. In addition, the Level 2 and Level 3 reprocessed data will be available through Worldview, and the Level 3 Nitrogen Dioxide, Formaldehyde, and Ozone Total will be added to their respective ArcGIS image services.
