What do the granule numbers in the filenames of TEMPO Level 2 (L2) data represent?

An important item to note is that the granule numbers in the Level 2 filenames do not correspond to specific geographic areas. Granules are used to divide a scan into more manageable file sizes so Granule 01 of Scan 001 in the morning may start over the East coast, but Granule 01 of Scan 016 in the evening may start over the central U.S. Using the map view or viewing the granule thumbnails in Earthdata Search are useful methods to determine where a granule is geographically located.
