Paleogeography

by otis » Mon May 18, 2026 3:08 pm America/New_York

I am looking for satellite imagery that has had all human impacts removed (structures, surface alterations etc). I found a reference to NASA Earthdata “simulations” that may produce such a product. Does such a program or product exist? I can’t find reference to this on the website. Please see attached reference. Thanks
Otis

Try NASA Worldview as a starting point, then NASA Earthdata Search for a more direct link to data. Here are some ideas of thematic areas data may be classified under in Earthdata tools and services.

It's always helpful when someone points out the dataset limitations or processing steps involved, because a lot of issues turn out to be related to the source data rather than the analysis workflow itself.
