OMTO3e (Level3e) daily ASCII ozone — no 2026 data at acd-ext

Hello,
I download the daily TOMS-like total column ozone ASCII files (OMTO3e, 0.25° × 0.25°) from this directory for use as ozone column input to the CAMx air quality model (via the O3MAP/TUV preprocessors):
https://acd-ext.gsfc.nasa.gov/anonftp/toms/omi/data/Level3e/ozone/
The problem is that there is no 2026 data in this OMTO3e path. The Y2026 folder is either missing or empty, so files like OMI-Aura_L3-OMTO3etoz_2026m...txt are not available. The most recent year I can access here is 2025.

My questions:

1. Is the 0.25° OMTO3e (Level3e) ASCII product still being produced and posted to this directory? Or has it been discontinued?
2. If it is still active, when can I expect the 2026 files to appear?
3. If it has been discontinued, what is the recommended replacement for a 0.25° daily ozone column product in the same ASCII text format?

Thank you very much for your help.

Dear User,

Thank you for reaching out. GES DISC does not manage the data from the server in which you are seeking to download data (https://acd-ext.gsfc.nasa.gov). We recommend you reach out via their division's (614) contact page for assistance with data from that specific server. They appear to have a feedback form that you can submit here: https://science.gsfc.nasa.gov/earth/acd/contact.

Please let us know if you need further assistance putting you in contact with the right individual for help with data from this server.

However, GES DISC does archive Version 4 of that data in *.he5 (HDF-EOS5) format here: https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/datasets/OMTO3e_004/summary?keywords=OMTO3e_004. If you use the "Subset/Get Data" tool shown on the right side of this page, and select the "Get File Subsets using OPeNDAP" option under "Download Options" in the pop-up window, ASCII becomes an available output format in the "File format" drop-down. Please be sure to set your date range, region, and variable options in the pop-up window as well. Next, select "Get Data", and you will be given a series of data download hyperlinks to the ASCII formatted data. We have OMTO3e data up to the current date (minus a few days) in our archive.

Please be aware that the available ASCII formatted data via the GES DISC site above is not formatted the same as the ASCII data you seek on the "https://acd-ext.gsfc.nasa.gov" data archive. GES DISC's ASCII data format contains one variable per column, and can contain multiple variables depending on your variable selection in the pop-up window. Unless you select just one variable from OMTO3e file (and the lat/lon), you can't recreate the exact ASCII format on acd-ext.gsfc.nasa.gov (you'd have multiple files).

We would also like to inform you that GES DISC is migrating their data archive to the NASA Earthdata site: https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov. You can learn more about the migration and how it will affect your access to GES DISC data (like OMTO3e) here: https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/information/documents?title=Migration%20to%20Earthdata.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or issues.

Regards,
