Hello,
The ASDC would like to request the following be added as GCMD Project Keywords:
Short Name: NightBLUE
Long Name: Nighttime Bermuda Lidar Underflights of EarthCARE
Description: During September 2025, the Nighttime Bermuda Lidar Underflights of EarthCARE (NightBLUE) completed 16 underflights to support EarthCARE validation, particularly the (ATLID) atmospheric lidar. To support the NightBLUE campaign, the NASA High Spectral Resolution Lidar-2 (HSRL-2) flew onboard the NASA G-III aircraft. A majority of the flights took place at night, with 11 underflights completed during nighttime and 5 underflights completed during daytime. The 100th underflight of EarthCARE was completed during NightBLUE.

Short Name: CALIPSO-airborne LaRC HSRL
Long Name: CALIPSO-airborne LaRC HSRL Coincident Underflights
Description: The Cloud-Aerosol Lidar with Orthogonal Polarization (CALIOP) instrument on the Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations (CALIPSO) spacecraft has provided global, high-resolution profiles of aerosols and clouds since it became operational on 13 June 2006. From 14 June 2006 to 18 August 2022, the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL) has been deployed on several NASA aircraft for a total of 147 underflights of the CALIPSO satellite to provide validation measurements for the CALIOP data products.
If there are any issues just let me know!
