Data availability for GLDAS_NOAH025_3H (C1342986035-GES_DISC)

by earthengine_urs » Mon Jun 01, 2026 3:14 pm America/New_York

Hi,

We have noticed that data for the source C1342986035-GES_DISC (published in Google Earth Engine as NASA/GLDAS/V021/NOAH/G025/T3H) has not been updated since January 31, 2026. According to the Earthdata search portal, the latest available granules are dated 2026-01-31.

However, we have not seen any announcements regarding a pause or discontinuation of this dataset, and the main page still lists the temporal extent as "2000-01-01 to present."

Could you please provide an update on the status of this data source and let us know if there are any known issues with the production pipeline?

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely,
Stan Liao on behalf of Google Earth Engine Data

The GLDAS-2.1 main production stream data products normally have a latency period of 3-4 months. However, the latest GLDAS update is delayed as we were waiting for the precipitation input data to become available. The input data has been obtained and we are currently processing GLDAS runs for February 2026. Data should be available within 3-4 business days. Thank you for reaching out and notifying us of this delay.
