We recently had a user write in to see why there is no MCDMCD43GF.061 data after 2021. We thought our answer would be helpful for the user community. Please see below.
Currently the MODIS/Terra+Aqua BRDF/Albedo Gap-Filled Snow-Free Daily L3 Global 30ArcSec CMG V061 (https://doi.org/10.5067/MODIS/MCD43GF.061) data are available from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2021. While we plan to complete the processing to have the data available from February 2000 to present, currently there is no timeline available for completion of historical or live edge processing. It is recommended that users requiring data prior to 2013 use the Version 6 dataset instead. (https://doi.org/10.5067/MODIS/MCD43GF.006)
