All hydrometeor profiles over land are set to missing in V7 2A12 due to large uncertainty.

Due do large uncertainties the TRMM 2A12 hydrometeor profiles over land are set to missing. Users should be accessing the GPM era data products: TMI GPROF https://storm.pps.eosdis.nasa.gov/storm/ or through GES DISC 2A-CLIM 2AGPROFTMI TRMM TMI Precipitation (GPM_​2AGPROFTRMMTMI_​CLIM).

Algorithm description:
2AGPROFTMI, "Radiometer Profiling", generates surface rainfall and vertical hydrometeor profiles on a pixel by pixel basis from radiometer brightness temperature data using the Goddard Profiling Neural Network algorithm GPROFNN2024 or GPROFNNv1. DOI: 10.5067/GPM/TMI/TRMM/GPROFCLIM/2A/08
