Issue identified with NIR correction in the R2009 reprocessing of SeaWIFS

SeaWiFS Data Users,
We have discovered an issue with the NIR water-leaving radiance model and iteration process as employed in the SeaWiFS 2009.0 reprocessing. We are assessing the impact, but we know it will have some effect on coastal retrievals, so we anticipate a 2009.1 reprocessing of SeaWiFS in the near future.
If you have plans for a mass download, we suggest that you wait for the revised processing. If you've already downloaded a significant amount of 2009.0 data, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We will provide more details once we have tested the fix.
Regards,
The Ocean Biology Processing Group
