Terra spacecraft in safe-hold

The Terra spacecraft entered safe mode on 18 February 2016 at 1433z. The Terra Flight Operations Team is currently investigating.
While in safe hold, no science data are collected. Additional information will be provided as it comes available.

UPDATE - 23 Feb 2016:

All planned spacecraft recovery activities were successfully executed. The Terra spacecraft is back to normal.
Instrument recovery activities will start tomorrow. Coordinating recovery of five instruments with different
recovery timelines will take several days.

UPDATE - 24 Feb 2016:

The recovery of the MODIS instrument is in progress. The instrument was successfully commanded from
safe-mode to standby mode. The SV door was successfully commanded to be in outgas position and the
outgas heaters have been on since. The transition to science mode and opening of the nadir door is scheduled
for later today.
